How does a project start?

Decades of research and development combined with technological expertise and closeness to the market have resulted in a wide range of products for the processing of all types of thermoplastics and their blends, mixtures and compounds. Out of all the different directions in the sector of economy, we selected recycling of polypropylene as the first step in our recycling initiative. This raw material is manufactured locally by two plants (Turkmenbashy and Kyyanly Refineries) that supply many local factories manufacturing different products such as fibers, yarns, carpets, sacks, etc. All of them potentially become a good source for collection of wastes that occur during production process (pre-consumer) and collected waste (post-consumer). Both pre and post-consumer wastes can be turned into a valuable secondary resource. After machining, the product must be 100% fit for use in another manufacturing process, whether it be a loose film or parts that are difficult to break, get wet or contaminated with foreign particles.

Recycling practices: innovation and flexibility for the future
Recycling industrial and consumer waste means adapting to constant changes in incoming materials. The design should also consider the potential use of recycled product. This creates a challenge not only for the line itself, but above all for us as developers and suppliers of innovative systems.

Fibre & Non-Woven -recycling process
The production of fibers and nonwovens takes place in a highly competitive environment, which, among other things, requires economic efficiency. Raw resin is an important cost factor in the manufacturing process. Although the goal is zero waste production, this is not entirely possible. As a result, the recycling of production waste makes a big contribution to improving competitiveness. At the same time, although the quality requirements in the industry are very high, environmental awareness and resource conservation require recycling. Therefore, the challenge is to ensure that the regranulate does not have a negative impact on the production process, even with large production volumes, while providing equipment for the processing of various internal wastes with different properties.

Rejection of production occurs throughout the entire technological chain: from rejection at the output to rejection of substandard material and conversion. The production of additives uses process oils that can damage the material, for example during processing. Finally, the recycled material can be a single type of plastic or a mixture of materials. The components of polymer blends such as PE/PP or polymer/cellulose compounds are separated by special filtration. Certain viscosity causes problems with granulation. Processing into pellets with excellent free flowing properties is very important because industrial waste can take on a wide variety of forms. Choosing the right equipment after analyzing the characteristics of the raw materials and the know-how of the process allows the production of high quality regranulates and increases the economy and stability of the primary production process.

In a conclusion, we’d like to mention how excited we are to initiate such important step in development and growth of our company and at the same time proud to keep up with global trends in sustainability. It’s a huge work accompanied with purchase of recycling machines and equipment as well as obtaining required certificates, however, we are confident that this will have a positive return on our investment in a form of safe and healthy environment around us and our children.
